What is Momme?Momme is the unit describing the weight used for silk fabric, it's like thread-count in cotton. The more weight that a silk has, the higher the momme, the better the quality of the silk. All of Strobe Silk's items have a weight of 22 Momme, which is the perfect amount for a thick, soft, luxurious feel that will last a really long time!

How will Strobe Silk help my skin/hair?Silk is a luxurious natural fibre that has non-absorptive properties, which means that it doesn't pull moisture from your skin and hair like cotton and satin do. (Satin, by the way, is just the type of weave used on polyester, ick!). When your skin and hair are holding on to moisture, they're better protected against friction that causes frizz, breakage, and sleep creases or lines. We all want gorgeous radiant skin and glossy hair and silk is the way to it.

How will using Strobe Silk help me if I have hair extensions?Hair extensions are attached with bonds that pull and tug on the roots of your natural hair. Sleeping on our 100% mulberry silk pillowcase helps to reduce the friction that pulls and weakens roots and bonds while you sleep. Using our silk pillowcase and silk scrunchies will minimize tangling and matting and prolong the life of your hair extensions, ensuring they look better for longer!
-
Can sleeping on silk maintain eyelash extensions?Unlike other fabrics which may pull and tug on your lashes, our 100% mulberry silk pillowcases are gentle on eyelash extensions and helps to protect them while you sleep. Silk enables the lashes to glide over the pillow and prevents damage, ensuring your lashes stay looking better for longer!

How do I wash my Strobe Silk items? - Hand washHand-washing is always the best way to wash your silk pillowcase, and will ensure your pillowcase (and other items) stays in the best condition. It is very important to use a gentle, PH neutral washing detergent specifically designed for washing silk or delicate fabrics. Biological and non-biological detergents are not suitable for washing your pillowcase, and should never be used to wash any of Strobe Silk items. They will cause the silk to harden and lose its benefits, even after one wash. Step by step guide on handwashing your Strobe Silk items: Silk shouldn’t be soaked too long so washing process shouldn’t take longer than a few minutes. 1. Use a bowl or a clean sink and put liquid detergent designed for silk. 2. Remember to use cold water. 3. While washing only move from one side to the other, do not twist, ring, or pool as it might break the fibers. 4. Rinse your silk pillowcase and remember to always use cold water. 5. For second rinse add a tablespoon of desolated white vinegar, it will help dissolve the outline traces. 6. And then do a final rinse

How do I wash my Strobe Silk items? - Machine wash1. Use Delicate Cycle and mild detergent 2. Do not use detergents that contain enzymes and brighteners 3. Use the shortest spin cycle. In a top-loading machine, we strongly recommend using a mesh bag for extra protection (this step is also recommended in a front-loading machine) 4. Always separate your colors
-
How do I dry my items after washing them?1. Hang silk pillowcases (and other items) to dry. The silk pillowcase will hold its shape. 2. As with any fine fabric, never use direct sunlight to dry silk clothing. Doing so can damage the silk fiber and fade the color. Wet silk may yellow in direct sunlight or on a radiator. 3. Don't use a wooden drying rack, as the dyes & finishes can leave stains. 4. We do not recommend drying silk in a clothes dryer since it can damage silk in two ways: (1) excessive temperature and heat dulls the silk fabric and may also shrink it (2) friction with the dryer drum might cause yarn breaks or white streaks. Do not tumble dry, even on low.
